Chief of Navy RADM Wat Makes Introductory Visit to China

Our Chief of Navy RADM Sean Wat was in China for his introductory visit from 4 to 9 September 2023 where he was hosted by Admiral (ADM) Dong Jun, Commander People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), in Beijing.

During the trip, RADM Wat visited the North Sea Fleet Headquarters in Qingdao, Shandong Province, where he called on Vice Admiral (VADM) Fu Yaoquan, Political Commissar of the PLAN North Sea Fleet.

RADM Wat also visited the South Sea Fleet Headquarters in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province where he called on RADM Xu Haihua, Chief of Staff of the PLAN South Sea Fleet.

RADM Wat's visit underscores the warm and friendly defence ties between the Singapore and Chinese navies. Over the years, the interactions between both navies have strengthened our mutual understanding, and enhanced our professionalism and camaraderie.
